Shakra

Overview

Shakra is an NPC first revealed in the Hollow Knight: Silksong announcement trailer. She is a warrior who mastered the Craft-Skill of cartography and now searches for her master, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

In the announcement trailer she appears under the "New Friends" tab, standing in a dark grey and foggy cavern threaded with massive chains beside a windowed structure. As Hornet approaches, Shakra lowers into a ready stance and lets out a sharp cry.

A later developer update described her clan as warriors who each hone a Craft-Skill, with Shakra specialising in cartography. The post hints that her mapmaking expertise will aid Hornet throughout the journey.

Another update confirmed Shakra as the source of mapping tools in Pharloom, offering charts, compasses, and other navigation aids to Hornet.

Instead of Cornifer’s scattered map pages, golden rings mark where she can be found. If she cannot be located, Hornet can strike the ring on the platform to the right and above the wish well in Bone Bottom to summon her back to camp, which Shakra calls home between expeditions to find her master.

Shakra is also shown fighting alongside Hornet during encounters such as the ant arena in Hunter’s March, hurling her ring to attack from range. Depending on circumstances she may even cross blades with Hornet later in the adventure, and she readily engages nearby foes—such as flying enemies in the Blasting Steps—when they draw near.
