Grindle

Overview

Grindle is an NPC in Hollow Knight: Silksong first teased by Matthew "Leth" Griffin on the official Discord, where fans pieced together a riddle to reveal him.

Beyond that tease, little was shared aside from a short description and a looping animation that introduced his personality.

"Hoho, free at last! Locked up in here much too long, we was! Nasty place to keep a poor little snitchbug! You’re smellin’ fancy though... Bet you got some nice shinies hidden in that cloak!"

A common snitchbug with a fixation on thievery, Grindle has crossed Pharloom but spent much of it behind bars. Freed at last, he gladly exploits the kingdom’s troubled state.

He is eager to take rosaries in exchange for snippets of gossip he has gathered on his travels, though the value of his intel can be dubious.
